Advice

Our advice to parents

The smooth running of a lesson depends on the instructor but also on you:
  • Arrive in advance at the meeting points indicated on the receipt you received by e-mail or via the MY ESF app.
  • You must bring your ski pass to all lessons, even private lessons.
  • Lift passes are not included in the price of lessons and are compulsory for group and private lessons (children under 5 do not pay the lift pass but a pass is still required for access to the lifts).
  • Equipment is not provided.
  • Helmets are recommended.

For children:
  • Come to lessons equipped (skis, boots, helmet, goggles or ski mask).
  • Dress warmly: anorak, gloves, goggles, handkerchief, sun cream and helmet from the start to get into the swing of things!
  • I don't recommend scarves or tying your gloves.
  • To feel good and not waste time during your lesson, don't forget to go to the toilet before you come!
  • Don't come on an empty stomach.
  • You can bring a snack and your favourite drink.

For parents:
  • Access to the kindergarten is reserved for children.
  • Respect the child's rate of progress, i.e. if your little one starts to make snowplough turns and you take him out on more difficult slopes to please him, you could be hindering his progress and even putting him in difficulty.
  • Always be positive and reward his progress.
Safety tips for the slopes
1 - RESPECT FOR OTHERS
Users of the slopes must behave in such a way as not to endanger or harm others, either through their behaviour or their equipment.

2 - CONTROL OF SPEED AND BEHAVIOUR
All users of the slopes must adapt their speed and behaviour to their personal abilities and to the general conditions of the terrain and the weather, the state of the snow and the density of the traffic.

3 - CHOICE OF DIRECTION BY THE PERSON AHEAD
The person upstream is in a position to choose a trajectory; he must therefore make this choice in such a way as to preserve the safety of anyone downstream.

4 - OVERTAKING
You can overtake from the front or from the back, from the right or from the left; but you must always do so wide enough to prevent the person you are overtaking from moving.

5 - AT RUNWAY CROSSINGS OR WHEN DEPARTING
After stopping or at a piste junction, all users must check upstream and downstream to ensure that they can proceed without danger to themselves or others.

6 - PARKING

All users must avoid parking in narrow or blind passages; in the event of a fall, they must clear the piste as quickly as possible.

7 - ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON FOOT
Anyone obliged to ascend or descend a piste on foot must use the edge of the piste, taking care that neither they nor their equipment are a danger to others.

8 - RESPECT FOR INFORMATION, SIGNS AND MARKINGS
Users must take account of information on weather conditions, piste conditions and snow conditions. They must respect the signs and markings.

9 - ASSISTANCE
Anyone witnessing or involved in an accident must provide assistance, in particular by sounding the alarm. If necessary, and at the request of the first aiders, they must make themselves available to them.

10 - IDENTIFICATION
Any person who witnesses or takes part in an accident must identify themselves to the emergency services and/or third parties.
